Illumik ("we", "us", "our") builds Rufe with the same principle that runs through the rest of the studio: collect less, store closer, share never. This page explains how that translates into practice for the Rufe iOS app.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with the Rufe application (the "App"). It applies to the iOS app and any directly related services we provide.
2. Information we collect
We do not collect personal data. All information you enter into Rufe — guinea-pig profiles, weight entries, health logs, photos, notes — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.
3. Data storage
All app data is stored on-device. If you use iCloud Backup, your Rufe data may be included in your device backup according to Apple's iCloud terms. We do not have access to your iCloud data and we do not run any servers that hold a copy of it.
4. Analytics & tracking
Rufe does not use any third-party analytics, advertising or tracking services. We do not collect usage data, device identifiers or behavioural information. There are no SDKs in the app whose only job is to watch you.
5. Third-party services
The App does not integrate with any third-party services that collect user data. The App may link to external websites (such as veterinary references) which have their own privacy policies — we do not control those.
6. Children's privacy
Rufe does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The App does not require account creation or any personal information to function — there is nothing for a child to enter that would identify them.
7. Data deletion
Since all data is stored locally, you can delete your data at any time by removing entries within the App or by uninstalling the App from your device. There is no "delete my account" flow because there is no account.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Effective" date. Substantial changes — should they ever happen — will be highlighted on the Rufe homepage.
